The Canute 360
Built for its multiline capabilities, the Canute 360 offers 360 cells and 9 lines of Braille, giving it the title of the world’s first and only affordable, multi-line Braille e-reader. The Canute 360 boasts hard-signage Braille, making it perfect for beginners, professionals or those looking to read for pleasure.

Read Braille like never before.
With its 9-line capacity, the Canute 360 can replace reams of embossed Braille books, instead compacting thousands of works onto multiline refreshable Braille. The heart of the Canute has always been to make reading pleasurable.
For home readers, professionals and students, the Canute can drastically increase the accessibility of Braille material. It reads all pre-formatted Braille Ready Files (BRF) and Portable Embosser Files (PEF), letting you read texts from Bookshare, the RNIB and many other global Braille libraries.
Using transcription software such as Duxbury DBT or Braille Blaster, any digital text file can be transferred to and read on Canute.
‘The time, energy, and devotion you have put into this machine is absolutely clear. Thanks so very much! It’s wonderful! It has allowed me to have a library without literally thousands of volumes.’ - Canute 360 Owner
‘The Canute is great for skim-reading, you can skip to where you want to be, making it easier to use, you can skip pages and go backwards and forwards unlike a single-line Braille machine’ - Dr Norman Waddington, Blind Academic and Canute 360 Owner

There’s no better way to learn Braille
Learning Braille is difficult, and most visually impaired people struggle with the confidence to begin, particularly those who’ve experienced sight loss later in life. Our devices hope to make that easier, with paper spacing and Braille learning files, learning Braille has never been easier!
‘If I’d have had the Canute Earlier, I would’ve progressed faster. It’s easy to read because the quality of the Braille cells is very crisp and very easy to detect. The spacing is perfect, your hand doesn’t drift, it’s much easier to keep track of where you are.’ - Mary Lea, Canute 360 Owner
‘I did a lot of reading on the Canute 360 because having the ability to see material aligned (like a piece of paper) was incredibly useful!’ - -Roger Firman, UK Association of Accessible Formats & British Standards Institution & Canute Console Owner
Tactile graphing has never been easier!
The Canute gives a 2-dimensional display so by using both hands, the row and column of a table can be read simultaneously. This makes it much easier to build up a mental picture of a table, as one can with a paper copy.
You can scan up and down lists without pressing a button to reach each entry, and scan up and down columns of figures in complex formulas and scientific equations. Simultaneous equations and other Mathematical expressions that require more than one line can be displayed in a much more meaningful way on the Canute 360.
The ability of the Canute to display, depending on your settings, up to two-thirds of a hard copy Braille page opens up possibilities of displaying complicated equations, notations, tables and other expressions requiring more than one line of Braille electronically and flexibly.’ - Ika Staeglin, Educator, Childvision School
Maybe you’re more into music?
The Canute 360 is the perfect device to read and learn musical scores on. It has been extremely impactful with its multiline capabilities in opening up the world of sheet music for visually impaired musicians. You can read multiple lines of music, and music for both hands!
‘Music is very important to me. I have been playing the piano for 25 years and the accordion for 20 years. With the Cannute, [reading music is] much simpler, because of the bigger display, which means you have the bar number followed by the right-hand for that bar on one line, and the left-hand immediately underneath. It makes it much easier to check small details and read the whole piece’ - Simmie Gould, Canute 360 Owner
Good for musicians, maths, programmers, reading and literacy. Reading music Braille is amazing, as is tabular information. I must say, reading several lines of Braille without having to advance to the next line is fantastic.’ -David Woodbridge, Braillist and Podcaster
